National Seminar on Ethics and Ethos in Management

Summary
To discuss and to share the ideas and views of academicians, research scholars, students and corporate on Ethics & Ethos in Management, two day National seminar was organized on 27-28 July, 2013.
The conference was started with a inspiring note of Prof. B.P. Sharma (President, PAHER University) on the available literature of management, enshrined in the ancient scriptures. He also shared his views on inculcating a value system for promoting ethics in education , training and practice of management.
The aim of the seminar was to bring into light the national ethos depicted in the ancient scriptures and reinforce ethics in all affairs of human decision making for high level of ethical standards in management and corporate governance.
The deliberations of the seminar was divided into five tracks i.e. Ethics and Indian Ethos in Management, Spiritual Values and Work Life, Ethical standards and Corporate Governance, Practical Experiences, Experiments, Cases and Examples and Roadmap for Implementation.

A range of issues were highlighted including value of ethics in Indian Business scenario, spiritualism in ethics, Gita and Mahabharata as the source & origin of all ethical value and success of every business is still completely dependent on its ethical standards. It was also noted that the scope in both the backgrounds and experiences of participants attended the conference was exceptionally varied, creating a rich context for discussions.
The conference was concluded with the belief in the relevance of Swami Vivekanand’s vision of education for character building in the youth , the power of goodness and working selflessly, harmony of religions as lived and taught by Sri Ramakrishna.
